Position: Investment Banking Associate
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Salary: $100k-$150k (depending on experience) + bonus
Our client, a highly respected and active middle-market investment bank based in Angeles, is seeking to add an Investment Banking Associate to its growing team. This is a unique opportunity to join a lean, high-performing platform with direct exposure to senior leadership and meaningful involvement across all stages of transaction execution.
The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of prior investment banking experience and a strong technical foundation developed through a formal analyst training program. This role is best suited for someone looking to continue developing at the Associate level before pursuing more senior leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead execution workstreams across buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory engagements
- Build and review complex financial models including DCFs, LBOs, public comparables, and precedent transaction analyses
- Prepare client-facing materials including pitchbooks, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and investor communications
- Coordinate directly with clients, investors, legal counsel, accountants, and other transaction stakeholders throughout live deal processes
- Oversee analysts and assist in mentoring and developing junior team members
- Conduct detailed industry, market, and company research to support strategic recommendations and transaction positioning
- Support due diligence efforts and help manage process timelines across multiple concurrent engagements
- Assist senior bankers with business development initiatives, client pitches, and origination support
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of investment banking experience required
- Prior experience completing a formal investment banking analyst program strongly preferred
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong execution and organizational skills
