A leading, middle-market private credit manager focused on strategic lending in New York is seeking to add a Senior Associate or Vice President to its investment team, with a primary focus on non-sponsored origination and execution.
This individual will play a key role in sourcing, structuring, and executing directly originated investment opportunities, working closely with senior leadership to develop and expand relationships. The role offers significant exposure to all aspects of the investment lifecycle, with an emphasis on building proprietary deal flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support origination efforts focused on non-sponsored, directly sourced investment opportunities, including developing and maintaining relationships with company management teams, intermediaries, and industry stakeholders
- Evaluate new investment opportunities, including conducting comprehensive due diligence, financial modeling, and credit analysis
- Structure and negotiate transaction terms across a range of special situations and flexible capital solutions
- Drive execution of transactions from initial screening through closing
- Actively monitor portfolio investments and support ongoing relationship management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record
- 5-8+ years of relevant experience, ideally within direct lending, private credit, or investment banking, with demonstrated exposure to non-sponsored or directly originated transactions
- Proven ability to support or lead origination initiatives, with a commercial mindset and strong relationship-building skills
- Strong financial modeling, credit underwriting, and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
