About Unity Investments
Unity has one mission: to create better access. We achieve this by offering a comprehensive investment service that provides our members with opportunities traditionally reserved for private banking clients. Specifically, Unity identifies, catalyzes, and capitalizes on the most compelling investment opportunities, with a focus on U.S. private credit, and shares them with our network of investors. In the long run, we aim to level the playing field.
Unity’s investment team is focused on originating, structuring, and executing private credit opportunities across the U.S. lower middle market. Through our sourcing networks, rigorous underwriting, and flexible capital solutions, we serve as a long-term partner to both borrowers and investors.
At the core of our strategy is the Unity High-Yield Managed Account (Unity HYMA), which provides our investors with curated exposure to asset-backed credit while preserving liquidity through an FDIC-insured, high-yield cash management overlay. Our model is purpose-built for transparency, discipline, and downside protection.
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Private Credit Investment Associate who aligns with our mission to unite incredible people and create exceptional value. This is a critical role on the investment team. You will work closely with senior team members to evaluate new investment opportunities, execute rigorous diligence, structure and negotiate transactions, and support the end-to-end private credit investment process. This position offers meaningful exposure across industries and investment structures, and direct involvement with Unity Partners and the Investment Committee.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth due diligence on private credit investment opportunities, including financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, scenario and downside analysis, and review of key legal and diligence materials.
- Source and evaluate new opportunities across senior-secured direct lending and asset-backed lending to U.S.-based, medium-sized companies; support origination efforts and manage diligence workstreams from initial review through IC approval.
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial and credit models to assess borrower performance, collateral coverage, cash flow durability, covenant headroom, and expected returns under base/downside cases.
- Structure and support negotiation of investments aligned with Unity’s objectives, underwriting standards, and risk tolerance, in collaboration with legal, compliance, and operations.
- Analyze and synthesize third-party diligence materials (KYC, AML, identity checks, Good Standing checks, background checks, collateral reports, appraisals, etc.).
- Develop high-quality materials for Investment Committee presentations, portfolio reviews, and updates for internal leadership and external stakeholders (investment memos, dashboards, investor updates, and presentation materials).
- Continuously assess portfolio exposures by monitoring performance, tracking key covenants/metrics, identifying emerging risks, and proposing action items or recommendations.
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments relevant to private credit, asset-backed finance, and Unity’s investor base.
- Build relationships with borrowers, sponsors, intermediaries, and relevant industry participants; represent Unity professionally in diligence meetings and ongoing monitoring discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in private credit, direct lending, venture lending, leveraged finance, investment banking (credit-focused), or commercial banking focused on credit underwriting.
- Credit Risk Certification (CRFC or Chartered Credit Analyst) preferred.
- Superior analytical skills with strong proficiency in accounting, financial modeling, valuation, and diligence.
- Working understanding of leveraged finance and private credit documentation concepts (collateral, covenants, security packages, intercreditor dynamics) is a plus.
- Confident and direct communicator—able to form independent opinions and clearly articulate conclusions in writing and verbally to senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable leading or driving diligence conversations with management teams, advisors, and other investment professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced, scrappy startup environment.
- Collaborative and adaptable; comfortable working across different teams able to align closely with Operations, Capital Formations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive execution.
- High integrity, strong moral compass, and excellent judgment.
- Ability to clear U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission standards and a background check.
- Occasional availability outside of business hours as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time position
- Benefits package including medical insurance
- Paid time off
- Paid observed holidays

Our Values
- Strong moral compass: Our commitment to a strong moral compass guides every decision and action we take. Integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct form the foundation of our interactions with investors, partners, companies, and our team. We believe in doing what's right, even when no one is watching.
- Drive and willingness: We love driven self-starters, especially those who exhibit a willingness to take initiative independently. We want people on the team to feel a strong sense of ownership for their work. We want to give people the discretion and the latitude to drive projects forward.
- Hard work and grit: We are a team that works relentlessly hard. We believe in the grind culture, where grit and tenacity are valued, especially in the face of adversity and hardship. In a startup, it is often difficult to navigate the myriad of problems that constantly surface. Time and time again, we believe that grit is the strongest predictor of success, and we live by that mantra.
- Dream big but focus on small steps: All great companies start with a grandiose vision, an inspiration that brings together a group of people who all work towards the same goal. At the same time, Rome was not built in a day – every great company had to start small. We believe in taking tiny steps every day but are constantly focused on our vision and goals. We want to remain grounded on a day-to-day basis, as that mentality will allow us to remain humble and nimble.
- Inclusive space: We foster an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, respected, and valued. Although our primary focus is uplifting our Asian-Pacific investor community, we recognize that innovation thrives when we harness our collective wisdom. Our commitment to inclusivity ensures that our solutions reflect the diversity of the world at large.
