A leading investment banking and capital markets firm is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced investment bankers, institutional investors, and corporate clients while gaining exposure to the full investment banking transaction lifecycle, including public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory assignments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating corporate finance opportunities, conducting financial analysis and valuation, supporting transaction execution, preparing client presentations, and assisting with capital raising initiatives across a variety of industries, with a particular focus on emerging growth companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze prospective investment banking transactions through financial modeling, valuation analysis, market research, and due diligence
- Build and maintain financial models, including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow (DCF), and other valuation methodologies
- Support the execution of equity and debt capital raises, public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions transactions
- Conduct industry research, competitive analysis, and market intelligence to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients
- Prepare pitch books, investor presentations, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), offering materials, and other marketing documents for clients and institutional investors
- Assist with financial and operational due diligence by reviewing company financial statements, business performance, and key operating metrics
- Coordinate transaction processes with clients, legal counsel, accountants, institutional investors, and other external stakeholders throughout deal execution
- Monitor transaction timelines, manage data rooms, and support senior bankers in delivering successful client engagements
- Prepare investment memorandums, internal reports, and presentation materials for senior leadership and investment committees
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related financial services role
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience building three-statement financial models and performing company and transaction valuations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, FactSet, or PitchBook is a plus
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, equity financing, and financial statement analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional client-facing materials
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
