Letter of Credit Analyst / Associate
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Letter of Credit Analyst/Associate to support the processing and administration of import and export documentary and standby letters of credit. This role is responsible for executing transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, internal policies, and banking procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working cross-functionally with internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Process import and export documentary and standby letters of credit, including issuances, amendments, advising, confirmations, and payments.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of trade finance transactions in accordance with internal controls and service standards.
- Perform transaction reviews and obtain necessary approvals from Front Office, Middle Office, and Compliance.
- Conduct daily cash and foreign currency reconciliations, invoice clients, and apply applicable fees.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide timely updates on letter of credit activity.
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with OFAC, AML, anti-boycott regulations, and internal risk policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Trade Finance, Letters of Credit, Banking Operations, or a related financial services environment.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with SWIFT and Loan IQ is a plus.
- Knowledge of UCP 600, ISP98, URR 525, and URC 522 is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
