A leading growth-oriented private equity investment firm is seeking to add a Private Equity Associate to its San Francisco investment team. The firm specializes in healthcare investments, partnering with innovative businesses across the sector and supporting management teams in driving long-term growth and value creation.
The Associate will work alongside senior investment professionals across the entire investment lifecycle, from evaluating new investment opportunities through transaction execution, portfolio management, and exit planning. This role offers significant responsibility, direct interaction with management teams, and broad exposure to investing in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring, and exit planning
- Evaluate healthcare investment opportunities through financial analysis, industry research, and commercial diligence
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, LBO models, and investment committee materials
- Support all phases of transaction execution, including management meetings, diligence coordination, financing processes, and negotiations
- Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to senior investment professionals
- Monitor portfolio company performance and help identify strategic and operational value creation initiatives
- Analyze healthcare market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory dynamics to support investment decisions
- Collaborate closely with management teams, advisors, and internal stakeholders throughout the investment process
Ideal Background
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking or private equity
- Strong transaction execution experience with advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Healthcare sector experience is preferred, though candidates with strong M&A experience and a demonstrated interest in healthcare will also be considered
- Experience managing multiple live transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with senior investment professionals
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in long-term investing
