Responsibilities
Needham & Company, a full-service investment bank focused on growth technology companies, has an immediate opening for an Experienced Investment Banking Analyst for the Boston office. Under the direction of Senior Bankers, the analyst will work on multiple projects and transactions at any given time, with primary responsibilities surrounding the production of analytical work for clients and the support of transaction execution from origination to closing. Representative technology sectors the analyst can expect to gain experience in include: semiconductors, advanced industrial technologies, AI and datacenter infrastructure, cybersecurity & infrastructure software, quantum computing and crypto & blockchain technologies. The job involves, among other tasks, the following:
- preparation of pitch materials, confidential information memorandums and management presentations;
- financial modeling and financial analysis, including valuation analyses;
- capital markets and technology analysis;
- participation in the drafting of SEC documents;
- execution of mergers and acquisitions projects, IPOs and follow-on equity offerings; and
- coordinate and perform due diligence for Needham & Company sponsored transactions.
Prerequisites Include
- 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory services, corporate development, corporate strategy, consulting or a transaction-related field;
- excellent analytic and writing skills and a particular attention to detail;
- strong work ethic;
- understanding of the M&A and capital raising processes, along with proven experience in successfully closing deals;
- strong understanding of financial statement analysis and company valuation techniques;
- advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, FactSet, Bloomberg etc.);
- teamwork, interpersonal and leadership skills;
- driven, results oriented personality; and
- an excellent academic record.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $130,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, license registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending, commuter; and paid time-off plan.
