Echo Search Group - Financial Services team is exclusively partnered with a well-established investment bank that is seeking a newly created Associate. This role is geared toward candidates with hands-on underwriting and deal execution experience who can contribute immediately across live transactions. The position offers significant exposure to complex financing processes and direct interaction with lenders and investors within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Execution:
- Support execution of debt and structured equity transactions from origination through closing, including investor outreach, diligence coordination, documentation review, and process management.
- Credit Underwriting & Financial Analysis:
- Evaluate new investment opportunities and financing structures through detailed financial modeling, including full three-statement projections (P&L, cash flow, working capital).
- Analyze key credit metrics such as leverage, fixed charge coverage, and cash flow sustainability.
- Structuring & Deal Strategy:
- Assist in structuring debt facilities across a range of products with consideration to market dynamics and risk-adjusted returns.
- Market Engagement & Execution:
- Interface with lenders and capital providers during active processes; support positioning and syndication efforts, including presenting deal opportunities to financing partners.
- Marketing Materials & Diligence:
- Prepare Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs) and investor presentations.
- Coordinate diligence processes, including data room management, document review, and Q&A facilitation.
- Documentation Exposure:
- Participate in reviewing and commenting on credit agreements and related legal documentation as part of transaction execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, or capital markets roles with direct underwriting exposure
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing live deals as part of a day-to-day workflow
- Background in credit investing, underwriting, or deal-focused roles
- Strong familiarity with debt structures, capital stacks, and financing processes
Core Skills
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including building fully integrated operating and cash flow models
- Strong credit analysis capabilities with the ability to assess risk and recommend financing solutions
- Experience presenting or contributing to investment committee materials or lender-facing discussions
- Exposure to structuring and negotiating debt facilities across various industries and deal sizes
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex transactions clearly and confidently
