Blacklock Group is partnering with a leading private equity firm focused on investing in the healthcare sector to identify an Associate for its investment team in New York.
The firm partners with management teams to build market-leading healthcare businesses across subsectors including healthcare services, HCIT, life sciences tools, and pharma services. Leveraging deep sector expertise, operational capabilities, and disciplined investment execution, the firm has built a strong track record of driving growth and value creation.
The team operates in a highly collaborative environment with meaningful exposure to senior leadership, portfolio company executives, and industry experts.
This role offers significant responsibility and involvement across the full investment lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Deal Execution:
- Build and maintain complex financial models (LBO, operating models, M&A analysis)
- Conduct industry research and competitive analysis across healthcare subsectors
- Lead key due diligence workstreams and coordinate with external advisors
- Prepare investment memoranda and Investment Committee materials
- Support transaction structuring, negotiation, and closing processes
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor portfolio company performance and key operating metrics
- Assist management teams with strategic initiatives and operational value creation
- Support buy-and-build strategies and add-on acquisitions
- Assist with exit planning and execution processes
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory experience
- Healthcare coverage experience (e.g., healthcare services, pharma, HCIT, medtech) preferred
- Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare investing and industry trends
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced environment
