About the Role
The Real Estate Investment Banking group at Cantor Fitzgerald is a growing team of dedicated bankers that has successfully executed transactions across M&A advisory, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets. Associates will work on assignments spanning all major real estate sectors — including data centers, industrial, healthcare, multifamily, retail, net lease, and office — and across all investment banking products. Lean transaction teams give Associates significant ownership over live deals and direct exposure to senior bankers and clients from day one. We are looking for candidates with a deep overlapping interest in real estate and investment banking, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically about the issues confronting our clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead in the preparation of offering memoranda, pitch books, proposals, and other client-facing written materials
- Drive financial modeling and valuation analysis, accretion/dilution, and comparable company/transaction analyses
- Assist in managing deal execution processes, including capital raises, M&A advisory, and debt and equity underwriting assignments
- Coordinate due diligence processes, including information flow management, data room preparation, and third-party review
- Conduct in-depth industry, company, and sector research to support both live transactions and new business development
- Supervise and mentor Analysts, reviewing their work product and providing guidance on technical and professional development
- Organize and participate in client meetings, management presentations, and marketing efforts
- Interact directly with corporate clients, REITs, private equity sponsors, and senior bankers across all real estate sectors
Qualifications
- 2+ years of investment banking experience (Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst/Associate backgrounds preferred); relevant experience in real estate private equity, corporate finance, or a related field will also be considered
- Demonstrated excellence in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution
- Strong command of corporate finance, accounting, and capital markets concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to both internal teams and external clients
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of work product with limited supervision
- Strong leadership and team management skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; concentration in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field preferred
- MBA or other advanced degree is a plus but not required
Compensation
- Base salary range of $175,000 - $225,000, plus discretionary bonus
The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
