Investment Team Member (Analyst / Associate / Senior Associate)

A leading Los Angeles–based seed-stage venture capital firm is looking to add an Investment Team Member to its growing team. The firm partners with founders building innovative AI-native and technology-enabled companies, leading seed investments and supporting entrepreneurs from the earliest stages of company building.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with founders, evaluate emerging technologies, and help shape investment strategies at an active early-stage venture platform.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of relevant experience in venture capital, investing, banking, consulting, or startup ecosystems
- Proven ability to source venture-backable investment opportunities
- Experience conducting investment diligence including market research, competitive landscape analysis, and financial evaluation
- Strong relationship builder with an existing network in the startup and venture ecosystem
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis
- Passion for working with founders and helping build category-defining companies
- Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Build and manage sourcing channels for new investment opportunities
- Attend startup ecosystem events, conferences, and demo days
- Evaluate prospective investments and conduct detailed diligence
- Perform market and competitive research to inform investment theses
- Draft investment memos and present findings to the investment team
- Develop presentations for internal reviews and investor updates
- Support portfolio companies and broader firm initiatives
- Track industry trends and macro developments across the startup ecosystem
